Why you’ll love this juice
- It’s super quick & easy to make (you’ll only need about 10 minutes!)
- It’s made with only 3 ingredients that are easy to find and affordable (if you can’t find fresh turmeric, you can use ginger instead).
- It’s delicious! I’ve always loved carrots for their health benefits and because they’re very cost effective while yielding a lot of juice, but I don’t love the taste of pure carrot juice. Adding tangerines gives it just the right amount of sweetness!
- All three ingredients used in this skin glow juice are known for their numerous health benefits.
The benefits of juicing carrots
Since the process of extracting juice removes fiber, juicing allows you to consume a much larger amount of fresh produce than you’d be able to eat in the same of time. With this easy juice for glowing skin, you’re consuming 10 carrots at once, thereby increasing the numerous health benefits of carrots. Here are a few of them:
- Carrots contribute to healthy skin: the beta carotene included in the root vegetable turns into vitamin A in the body, which is a nutrient that helps maintain healthy skin. Beta carotene also helps protect the skin and helps slow down skin aging (note: it should in no way, however be considered a replacement for sun block.)
- They have immune-boosting qualities: thanks to the vitamin C included in carrots, they also help boost your immune system, which is especially helpful during the colder fall and winter months.
- Carrots help promote healthy vision: carrots are high in antioxidants and vitamin A, both of which contribute to eye health.
Good to know: turmeric is a true superfood and has anti-inflammatory properties, among many other benefits. As a citrus fruit, tangerines are a great way to add even more vitamin C, add a little sweetness, and boost the flavor of your homemade juices easily.
3-Ingredient Juice for Glowing Skin – Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Carrots: I love including carrots in juice recipes because they yield a high amount of juice thanks to their high water content. They’re also very affordable and versatile, and they don’t taste as bitter as some other vegetables, which means that you won’t need to add too many sweet fruits to make your carrot juice more enjoyable. Some people actually prefer their carrot juice without any additional fruit, so definitely feel free to experiment in order to find your personal favorite combos and ratios. Since carrots are the star of this juice for glowing skin recipe, I don’t recommend using a different vegetable instead. You could, however, experiment with combining sweet potato with celery and/or other vegetables (yes, you can juice sweet potatoes!). You just might need to add a few more tangerine to keep the same amount of sweetness.
- Tangerines (or clementines or mandarines): you can use other similar fruits such as oranges, but I wouldn’t recommend citrus fruit that isn’t as sweet (like lemons, limes, or grapefruit). Other great alternatives are apples and pineapple. I’d use about one apple or 1 cup of pineapple chunks for every two tangerines.
- Turmeric: the taste of turmeric can be quite intense, so be sure to start with a small amount at first if you’re not used to it. You can use ginger instead if you can’t find turmeric.
TIP: if you happen to have both turmeric and ginger root at hand, feel free to include both in this recipe!
Recommended Equipment
- A juicer: a cold press/slow juicer is ideal for this 3-ingredient juice for glowing skin recipe. Scroll down to see the one I recommend.
- Optional accessories: all other accessories are optional, but I’d recommend drinking juice with a reusable glass straw to protect your teeth. For easy storage, glass bottles are my favorite!

How to Make This 3-Ingredient Juice for Glowing Skin
Prepare the produce
Prepare your produce by peeling your tangerines and cleaning your carrots (you can brush them clean or use water – just make sure you dry them well using a kitchen towel afterwards). You don’t need to peel the turmeric, just make sure it’s clean. Depending on the size and type of juicer you’re using, you may also want to cut your carrots in half or even smaller pieces.
Add everything to your juicer
If you’re using a juicer like the one I have, you’ll be able to add everything at once (either the whole ingredients or smaller pieces), but if you’re using a different kind of juicer, you might need to cut the produce into smaller pieces and then add them one by one once you turn on it on.
Start juicing
Start your juicer and watch the magic happen! Note: Some people like to strain their juice. I sometimes do as well, but not always! If you’re unsure on whether or not to strain your juice, I’d recommend trying it both ways to see which option you prefer.
Serve & enjoy!
Pour your freshly made 3-ingredient juice for glowing skin in glasses over ice cubes and enjoy! Alternatively, you can also store it in a glass bottle with a tightly closed lid in the fridge for up to 2 days.

What Kind of Juicer is Best?
A cold-pressed juicer (also referred to as a slow juicer) is the best option to preserve a maximum of nutrients and juice yield. The term “slow juicer” refers to its gentler, masticating process, compared to a centrifugal juicer. The juicing process itself is very quick, however, so don’t let the term scare you!
The juicer brand I personally use and recommend is Nama. My absolute favorite juicer is the Nama J2 (you can read my detailed review here). They also have a newer model, the Nama J3 (which is the one I used for this 3-ingredient juice for glowing skin recipe), and it’s essentially a more compact, travel-friendly and more affordable version of the J2.
Quality wise, they’re on the same level, so which one you choose will depend on your personal preferences and needs. The J3 is ideal for smaller kitchens and students, for instance, whereas the J2 is great for anyone who likes to juice higher quantities and/or who has a more spacious kitchen.

What to do with your juice pulp
If you don’t want to waste your juice pulp, you can use it in sweet recipes like carrot cake or savory muffins. Alternatively, you can compost it (simply store it in the freezer until you can get to a nearby compost container.)

3-Ingredient Juice for Glowing Skin (Healthy & Easy to Make)
Equipment
- Nama J3 Juicer Discount Code: BOV10
- Glass Bottle Set Discount Code: BOV10
Ingredients
- 10 medium carrots
- 2 tangerines
- 1 thumb fresh turmeric root or to taste, ginger works too
Instructions
- Prep your produce by peeling your tangerines, washing or brushing your carrots and cutting them in half or even smaller pieces (the size will depend on the juicer you're using). No need to peel the turmeric.
- Next, add your produce to your juicer. If you're using a juicer like the Nama J2 or J3, you can simply add your produce all at once, then close the lid. For other types of juicers, you may need to start the juicer first and then add your produce little by little.
- It's time to juice! Turn your juicer on and watch it turn your produce into a delicious, nourishing juice.
- Once it's ready, you can either strain your juice or drink it as is. If you're drinking it right away, I'd recommend pouring it over a few ice cubes to make it even more refreshing. Otherwise, you can store it in a (preferably glass) bottle in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Notes
- If you love turmeric, feel free to double the amount and/or add some ginger to the mix as well.
- This recipe yields 2 cups (about 480mL) of juice, which equals about 2 small or 1 large serving.
